Start with One Idea 1st

So you want to start a business huh, that’s cool.

So let’s say you actually get started in pursuing that business idea.

But do you ever wake up in the morning and feel like you want to do something different?

I mean, literally just 360 your business or even switch to a different business idea?

That can happen, especially in the start-up phase of your business.

And especially when you’re taking it upon yourself to educate yourself in your craft, somewhere in the process you may have information overload or even shiny object syndrome.

While you’re learning about how to do one thing, you see something else that you feel is “your calling.”

So now you want to redirect all of your energy towards that and abandon what you’ve been working on.

Just pump the brakes for a minute, okay.

It’s totally possible for you to do both…eventually.

You need to keep your focus on what you started with because there’s a reason you wanted to do it in the first place.

This is actually a prime example of why it’s important to have some sort of business plan, business blueprint or roadmap when you get started.

You can’t find your destination if you don’t know where you’re going and have a clearly defined route to get there.

If you have something mapped out, no matter how simple or elaborate it is, then you always have something to refer back to when you lose your way.

This is also why it’s important to know your “Why.”

I know you hear it a lot but it’s super important because now, when you have this new shiny object syndrome, you can see if that new opportunity is aligned with that “why.”

If it’s not, you can simply dismiss it, but if it is, maybe figure out how to incorporate it.

But back to the topic at hand, and to keep your mind focused, just have it in mind to start with one.

One idea at a time and then you can build on from there.

Allow yourself to find success in something, start getting buyers and making money and then you can add onto your business where it makes sense.

But don’t shoot yourself in the foot and potentially stop yourself from having any success at all.

When you get too scatterbrained, that’s what happens.

You have so many ideas that you can’t focus on any “one” thing to ever perfect it. Then in turn, you get “nothing” accomplished.

So my tip for you today is to just start with one idea, perfect it enough to get started, make some money and then if you’re still interested in your new ideas, find a way to incorporate them or start a second venture.

But find success in the first idea that you’ve already been working on, first.

You’ll feel better and more accomplished.

  • So that you do feel better about holding off, keep a running list.

Trust me, if you’ve thought of one new thing you want to do, more new things will follow.

Start a running list in a notebook, an app or somewhere on your computer and every time you think of a new idea, add it to the list.

Then, when you’re in a position to pursue something, you can take your success and resources from the first idea and see what is appropriate to start next.
